Rupture
Lena Kamperi
Photography as well as trauma are constantly navigating between the past and the present. Trauma compels the present to be lived as if the traumatic event of the past were still unfolding, whereas taking a photograph captures the present and turns it into a ruin— a fragment of what has already passed. Our bodies are navigating spaces, bearing a perpetual rupture between the past and the present. Reflecting, mirroring, resisting and allying.
